Loving it

It has very quickly become a needed app not a want. My go to app for my inner voice and the several books I have floating in my head.

Great app

Luv it so far. I wish I could manipulate the size of the pics. Look forward to journaling every day. Great that I can share my entries with anyone by converting to pdf and sending by email or text. Great that its password protected. All around a great app. Not perfect but useful.

Messes up my keypad iPad

First off I absolutely love this app!! However, I have contacted the developer multiple times about this problem. Ive even been in touch with Apple multiple times and have had my iPad swapped out. Multiple letters will type every time in all applications after I open this. Sad to say but delete

Gorgeous to look at. Easy to use.

I spent a lot of time checking out journaling apps. I found most of them over-designed and underwhelming. Im dyslexic, but even if I wasnt I still wouldnt like all that visual clutter in my personal journaling experience. I love this app. Its easy to use. It provides you with the tools to quickly create a beautiful, personalized writing experience. You can adjust the page color, the font, the character size and color, and even the page brightness. It took me all of 30 seconds to set it up so that it was optimal to look at. Its also super easy to import photos and move them around and adjust their size. There is a good font selection, but it would be nice if there were more fonts in bold to choose from. At the moment there are just 2. (That was my request for Georgia Bold.) The app comes with one journal. For another 2 bucks you can upgrade to multiple journals, which can be adjusted individually if you want them to look different. The only thing that would make this app better is if there was a way to sync it across iOS devices. I usually journal on my iPad but sometimes I get an idea when only my iPhone is on hand. My workaround for that is another app by the same developer call Chronicle Notebook. Its a much simpler version of this app that does sync over iCloud. (And, at $1.99, is proving one of the most useful note taking apps Ive ever used!) So, if I dictate an entry onto my iPhone, the next time Im on my iPad I copy and past the entry from Notebook to Journal. Backing up options include Dropbox. You can also import as text onto Pages.

Needs encryption and iCloud back up and sync

I have not used this app except to look around at the features. So I cant commend on how well it functions. But I did noticed some very important features missing form the app that in my book makes it a poor designed app. Even though the developer added a password lock, it lacks AES 128, 192, or 256 bit encryption. No encryption equals no real security of your personal information. Anyone with a little know how and right software could break in easily. If you enter private personal information that you would like to keep safe from others, or you are a professional and use a journal/chronicle for recording or making notes, this app not for you. Of course even 256 bit encoding is weak if people use a simply password. It is recommended to use a combination of a minimum of 8 random (mix of upper and lower case letters and special characters) characters. I always use 12. I cant emphasize enough the need for high encryption and high strength password when it comes to keeping private information private. With a good back up system. Which leads me to the next problem with this app. Sadly, this app also lacks cloud backup. It allows you to export a back up file via text, e-mail, notes, and others, but no cloud. Not good at all! Why? Since there is no icloud (or cloud of any kind) back up, synchronization between devices is not possible. Which means that you cant use the app in your iPhone and iPad and have the entries migrate to each devise to synchronize the entries. Limiting you to only using one device. And with no automatic backup to a cloud after each entry or modification, if you lose your device or it gets stolen, all the information you entered that was not backed up manually will be lost for good. Unacceptable! This app has a lot of promise but as of right now, it is not an app for serious journaling. With that said, I do like the ability to add pictures to your entries. Nice!

Simple, easy to use~

Wonderful! Worth the money. Only thing stopping from a perfect rating is a few more color choices for the journal.

Crashed and deleted entries within the first few weeks

App malfunctioned within the first three weeks I had it installed on my new iPad Air 2. Lost all entries that were not backed up. Yikes. 4/9/16 Try a different one!

Love chronicle so far!

Was looking for an app where I could quickly write and photo journal. Was super happy with the result of chronicle! Easy to use.

Excellent App!

It would be perfect if you would include a button in the extended keyboard to create bullet holes as well as one to add a "Todays Goal" feature.

Like to be able to add multiple pictures

The app is okay, but i cant seem to add multiple pictures on one day. Makes adding pictures pretty useless.

Perfect

Its everything I could hope for in turtling out a journaling app. I can add pictures, change text, switch out fonts and customize and a bunch of different ways that really makes it great.

Nice

Im using it for a project that takes 6 months to complete. Its easy to use. My only upgrade would be when you can drop a photo in. I would prefer to put my photo in first.

Love this app

Use for all bible study notes. Simple and easy to use

Very useful and simple to use.

I used to love the app "max journal" but they dont have it anymore ...so I was searching for something similar and I finally found it. The favorite part is that I can add and move the picture in the page :)
